The 1st F1F F1 PS3 Korean GP was set to be a Formula One PS3 race held on 24 April 2011 at the Korean International Circuit in Yeongam, South Jeolla, South Korea. It was set to the 2nd race in the history of the championship but was unaviodably cancelled.
The Korean Grand Prix was originally set to be run on 24th April 2011 which was easter day in the UK. Due to this many competitors could not make the race so a vote was decided upon to decide which day the race would be held on, Sunday 24th or Monday 25th, as the monday was a bank holiday.
PSN Network goes down
The vote was never finalised however because just hours later RoboCAT99 revealed that the PSN network would be down over the weekend after an attempted hacking attempt, thus promting bradley1314 to announce the cancellation of the race. "It's such a shame because we've all been practicing really hard for whatever day the race was going to be on" McRenault's olliekart said. His teammate bradley1314 agreed adding "It was the only sensible decision to cancel the race. Hopefully we can find a slot later in the year".
Soon after cancelling the race a revised calendar was released by bradley1314 which included the addition of the Bahrain GP and the Korean GP pencilled in for either Saturday 16th July or Monday 18th July. bradley1314 said the race would not be run on Sunday the 17th, because it was his birthday so the rest of the field would have to settle on a date.
On 19th May 2011, a few days after the PSN came back online bradley1314 announced another revised calendar with the new date for the German Grand Prix, which was also cancelled due to PSN being down, and also the new date for the Korean race to be on the 19th July. This was because his parents anniversary was on the 16th and he had a first driving lesson scheduled for the 18th.
Early in July a revised Calendar was released showing the Korean Grand Prix to be on 31st July 2011.
