Bradley James Downton, (born 17 July 1994) is a British Formula One racing driver from England, currently racing for the Caterham team.

Formula OneEdit

In November 2011, Downton made his debut behind the wheel of a Formula One car, driving for Vodafone McLaren Mercedes at the young driver test held at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi . He drove for two of the three days with Oliver Turvey driving the third day.

Caterham (2012-Present)Edit

Downton was announced as a Caterham driver shortly before the start of the new season. He impressed on his first outing, qualifying 18th, ahead of seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher and having a solid race to fight with such names as Schumacher, as well as defending Champion Sebastian Vettel . He eventually finished 18th.

Downton qualified a career best fifth place in a wet qualifying session for Malaysia. This was the first time Caterham have made Q3 since joining F1 in 2010. The race wasn't so good as a series of problems left him 13th, being passed by teammate Heikki Kovalainen on the final lap.
